Merchandise Planner – Join Our Dynamic Team!


We are looking for an experienced Merchandise Planner to oversee inventory management, merchandise strategies, and data-driven decision-making. In this role, you’ll work closely with directors, vendors, and our buying team to ensure the right products are available in the right quantities, at the right price, at the right time, and in the right places. Key Responsibilities:


Inventory & Assortment Management: 


• Oversee inventory levels and plan merchandise assortments (length, width, seasonal collections). 

• Manage product and stock allocations across retail and digital platforms. 

• Ensure adherence to minimum and maximum stock levels across all retail outlets, based on store planograms and demand patterns. 

• Manage exit strategies for end-of-life merchandise and the return of obsolete inventory.


Vendor & Credit Management: 

• Build strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure smooth negotiations and collaboration.

• Regularly assess supplier performance to ensure order fulfilment, product quality and timely deliveries.

• Work with suppliers on the return of non-performing merchandise within agreed time frames.

• Secure credit notes from suppliers for discounts offered to protect margins.

• Ensure vendor agreements are met.


Sales & Financial Forecasting: 

• Develop buying budgets, OTB plans, selling forecasts.

• Create promotional budgets to align with financial goals.

Discount & Promotion Planning: 

• Work with Buyers to plan and execute promotional campaigns, ensuring alignment with pricing strategies, discount schedules, and clearance plans to maximize sales and profitability.




Analysis & Reporting: 

• Analyze sales performance across brands, categories, sales channels and stores.

• Track margins, profitability, GMROI, inventory turnover, and best sellers.

• Evaluate effectiveness of promotions and sales campaigns.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Process Improvement: 

• Collaborate with buyers and other departments and recommend process improvements for inventory management and sales performance.

• Collaborate with the marketing team to identify key products and new arrivals, ensuring they are featured in advertising campaigns, infographics, and reels across social media platforms.


Product Master Data 

• Maintain product master data.

• Generate purchase orders and returns



Qualification: 

Bachelor’s degree preferable in Business or equivalent qualification.


Experience:

Minimum 3 years of experience in the merchandising planning role preferably consumer electronics category.
